Statement Regarding Reproductive Services

The University has issued a statement concerning the U.S. Supreme Court ruling in Dobbs v. Jackson, which holds that abortion is not a right protected by the United States Constitution.  Along with our colleagues at UChicago Medicine, UChicago Student Wellness remains committed to providing students with care and consultation regarding a range of reproductive health options.  We encourage students to reach out to their providers with questions or concerns. Our counseling staff also remains available to help students address a range of concerns.

New Teletherapy Option for Students

Eligible UChicago students now have access to TimelyCare, a leading telehealth company specializing in serving the needs of university students through its network of licensed providers. TimelyCare offers on-demand and scheduled mental health services—all available virtually—to enhance students’ access to support. TimelyCare is designed to complement the in-person and virtual services that are offered through UChicago Student Wellness.
 


Stuart Hall Symptomatic Testing Site Closing

February 17, 2022

Due to greatly decreased demand for symptomatic testing among members of the University community and increased capacity to access testing at other facilities, the University has closed its symptomatic testing location in the Stuart Hall location.


Resumption of the Voluntary Testing Program

February 17, 2022

The Voluntary Testing Program, which was paused to accommodate increased demand for symptomatic and exposure testing, and mandatory testing of residence in on-campus housing, resumed on Monday, February 14.


COVID-19 Testing Programs at the University

January 12, 2022

On January 13, the University will open a testing location in Stuart Hall that will be the exclusive campus location for symptomatic testing. Anyone with COVID-19 symptoms should not go to the Walker or Gleacher sites for testing.


UChicago Student Wellness Offering COVID Booster Vaccines

UChicago Student Wellness has added a limited number of COVID-19 booster vaccine appointments for students. All appointments must be made online via the my.WellnessPortal.


How to Get a COVID Test on Campus

Updates on COVID-19 Booster Requirement

COVID-19 Vaccine Booster Shots

December 22, 2021

The University encourages everyone who is eligible to receive a COVID-19 booster shot. You can find an authorized provider on vaccines.gov. There are multiple authorized providers within one mile of the University’s main zip code (60637).  The University is not offering a dedicated booster clinic at this time.

Online Scheduling for Initial Counseling Appointments

During the Summer and Autumn Quarters of 2021, we offered a pilot program that allowed for online scheduling of initial assessment (intake) counseling appointments.  This initial pilot phase has concluded.  We are evaluating the effectiveness of this pilot with respect to students’ access to care, convenience, and optimal utilization of initial appointments.  We will be using the results of this pilot to determine how to optimize online scheduling for counseling appointments in the future.
