In the same way we all experience fluctuating physical health, we may also experience an occurrence that impacts our mental wellbeing at any point in our lives. For some, these difficulties may be temporary and resolve with lifestyle changes and support from friends and family. Others may be living with more enduring mental wellbeing challenges that require additional support. If you are experiencing problems that are affecting your studies or general wellbeing, check out the services that are available to you.

Bystander Intervention for Wellbeing

This Bystander Intervention for Wellbeing guide provides techniques for students who find that a friend or colleague may be experiencing a crisis and is unable to access help for themselves in the moment.

Mental Wellbeing for Students

Mental Wellbeing for Students supports student wellbeing by encouraging emotional preparedness and self-management; recognizing and addressing mental health challenges; and preparing students to support their peers who may be in distress. Maroon Mental Health Matters

Maroon Mental Health Matters is a pilot program designed to give participants the skills to help someone experiencing a mental health challenge or crisis. The course is tailored specifically for the University of Chicago community.

Mindfulness Meditation

Mindfulness Meditation courses are open to all UChicago community members and include instruction and practice of mindfulness meditation and other mind/body techniques to help reduce stress.

Mind Over Matter

Mind Over Matter is a branch of the Peer Health Advocates who are dedicated to empowering UChicago students to be aware of their mental well-being and reduce the stigma surrounding mental health.

Weekly Wellness Newsletter

The Weekly Wellness Newsletter provides students with weekly emails that address stress-management tips and UChicago-specific events and services that support students in managing stress.

Wellness Coaching

Wellness Coaching takes a holistic approach to examining how personal well-being interacts with your values, goals, and motivations. If you are considering changes to optimize your personal health and wellness or looking to positively shift certain aspects of your life, Wellness Coaching might be a good fit for you.
