Dear Students,
As the University announced last month, all students participating in in-person classes, research, or activities in the U.S. are required to be vaccinated for COVID-19 starting with the 2021 Autumn Quarter. UChicago Student Wellness recently provided additional details on how to fulfill the requirement. We are greatly encouraged by the thousands of students who have already submitted their COVID-19 vaccination documentation for Autumn Quarter.
To help address some common questions about COVID-19 vaccination from a medical perspective, we invite you to check out a video with Dr. Stephen Weber, Chief Medical Officer and Vice President for Clinical Effectiveness at the University of Chicago Medicine. In the video, Dr. Weber discusses how the vaccine requirement will help the University resume in-person activities. He also shares information on the safety and efficacy of the vaccines, testing that is required for the vaccines to receive an emergency use authorization, and how international students can fulfill the University’s vaccine requirement.
As a reminder, to submit your vaccination documentation, go to my.WellnessPortal, the secure, HIPAA-compliant medical records system for UChicago Student Wellness, to upload a photo of your vaccine card or screenshot/copy of your electronic medical record.
For additional information about the vaccine requirement, please visit UChicago Student Wellness’ immunizations webpage and the University’s vaccine FAQ.
Thank you for your commitment to the health and safety of our campus community.
Sincerely,
Michele Rasmussen
Dean of Students in the University
