Students receiving psychotropic medication at SCS are responsible for medication refills. When meeting with your psychiatrist, you are expected to obtain prescription refills or to make other refill arrangements at each appointment. To ensure appropriate and correct prescriptions, SCS psychiatrists will not respond to refill requests from pharmacies without direct communication from you.
If you need a prescription refill and do not have a scheduled appointment, contact your psychiatrist by email at least one week before you run out of medication. Please be aware that refill requests may take up to three business days to process.
If you are unable to reach your SCS psychiatrist or learn that he/she is unavailable, you may contact the psychiatrist-on-call at 773.702.9800 between 8:30 a.m. and 5 p.m., Monday–Friday. The psychiatrist-on-call will then determine whether to authorize or decline your request within three business days.
