Physical therapy through UChicago Medicine is better for students with acute needs and cannot accommodate patients needing long-term treatment. Depending on the student’s insurance plan, they may be responsible for all or part of these charges. Appointments are available on a limited basis; once capacity is reached, students can wait until space is available or receive therapy services under their health insurance with another provider.

Students seeking therapy services from outside providers should discuss the matter with their insurance carrier. Physical therapy services will be billed to the student and their insurance plan; depending on the student’s insurance coverage, they will be responsible for all or part of the charges.
