Art Therapy

What is Art Therapy?

Art therapy is a form of psychotherapy that uses creative expression and the art-making process to explore thoughts, emotions, and life experiences. No art skills are needed, just an openness to create and reflect. Through various forms of art-making such as drawing, painting, collage, or sculpture, students can discover new ways to manage stress, express themselves, and support their well-being in a relaxed and supportive environment.

Art Therapy offers a creative way to explore your emotions and provides a space to express what words cannot. Through the process of making art, you have the opportunity to recharge and reconnect with yourself in a supportive environment that focuses on personal growth rather than artistic skill.

What to Expect

Each session lasts one hour and takes place in a calm, creative setting designed to help you relax and reflect. You’ll be guided by an Art Therapy trainee from the School of the Art Institute of Chicago, and all materials will be provided—just bring yourself and an open mind.
