UChicago Facets of Wellness

Holistic Wellness

UChicago takes a holistic approach to wellness by focusing on 7 key facets of wellness. Wellness is much more than merely physical health, exercise or nutrition. It is the full integration of states of physical, mental, and spiritual well-being.

The model used by our campus includes emotional, environmental, financial, intellectual, physical, social and spiritual wellness. Each of these seven facets of wellness promote balance in our lives.

Emotional wellness is accepting your worth, recognizing and expressing your feelings in healthy ways, and coping with life’s challenges.

Environmental wellness is taking care of your global environment and your personal surroundings.

Financial wellness is understanding your current financial situation and planning for future financial health.
